Continuing Projects

Haddonfield Public Library

Flowers in the Library:  Provide fresh arrangements weekly in the Haddonfield Library and the children’s library. (See “Flowers in the Library” for your date of responsibility.)  *PL: 100%

Holiday Decorations in the Library:  Decorate the library for holiday season including the children’s library. *PL: 10%

Gardens in the Community

Kings Highway: Design and order plantings for the urns and hanging baskets in the downtown business district. Plant and maintain the urns. Monitor watering. *P.L. 50%

Receiving check from the Haddonfield Foundation for restoration work at the Bette Powell Garden

Bette Powell Memorial Garden:  Care of garden at Interfaith Caregivers behind Borough Hall. A priority project of this year is a major redesign and replanting and instillation of a new irrigation system. *PL: 20%

Tatem Memorial Garden:  Plant and maintain central display,  coordinate with Borough. *PL:10%

Herb Garden at Historical Society: Plant and maintain garden. *PL: 5%

Herb and Perennial Sale:  Annual fund raiser held each Spring.  *PL: 100%

Scholarship for Haddonfield High School Senior:  Open to an HMHS senior planning to study horticulture.  *PL: 100%

Garden Therapy: Conduct garden therapy activities with local senior residents.  *PL: 30%

Baskets for Blue Star Families: Decorate patriotic themed baskets, with a note of appreciation, to Haddonfield families of active servicemen and servicewomen. Delivered around Memorial Day. *PL: 10%

New Projects

Hopkins Pond Project:  2016 marks the 100th anniversary of Hopkins Pond becoming a public park. Work on Hopkins Pond was the Haddonfield Garden’s Club first civic project in its history and has been a focus for the club at various times over the years. This year we will begin to remove invasive species in the park that have overtaken native plants. *PL 60%
